The player also displays beautiful visualizations for music. Kantaris is an all new media player based on code from VideoLan Client (VLC) and Bass audio library. Kantaris has a graphical user interface that is similar with Windows Media Player.

Probably you will wonder, if I say that multimedia player Kantaris made by student. Yes, it's not a joke. Developer is Christofer Persson, computer science student at Lund University, Sweden. Kantaris is a strong evidence that regardless of increasing complex of software, we still have skilled craftsmans, who can develop it, even with third party libraries (using libraries is a common practice nowaday).
Kantaris has a big grow potential. I'm glad to see, that developer tries to add social features in the player. In Kantaris there are integration with popular social music website last.fm, trailer preview already. If Kantaris will grow up to level of Amarok player, we get amazing player for Windows. Wish further success with Kantaris to Christofer.
